Birthday dinner and school report!

Didn't I tell yall that we have birth-months in my family?!! Last night we had a birthday dinner at my grandmothers house for my cousin Elizabeth, sister Kelsey and me! Here are all the birthday girls.....17,18 and uh hum ...27 :) and of course Parker had to sneak in the picture!! (he just really wanted to blow out the candles!)

Well, Parker did awesome on his first day of big boy school yesterday!!! The teacher said he was so good. He did not sleep during nap time, but he laid on his mat awake the entire time (at least he got some rest) and he was exhausted last night!!! His teacher also said he did great drinking out of a "real" cup, spilled a little the first time, but did great after that (he had the same outfit on at the end of the day)! She even said he was nice to all of the kids in his class, yay!!
This morning when I took him in he was so excited. He got a toy and took it to the table and started playing with it first thing. He is such a big boy and LOVES carrying his new lunch box into school. I have already received a message from his teacher on Facebook (yes, I communicate with his new teacher on facebook....really awesome!!!)...he took a 1 1/2 hour nap today!! Have I told yall how much I love his new school!! (even though its only been 2 days :)
Hope everyone has a great week! I am going out to enjoy this beautiful weather!

Big Boy School

I havent really blogged about our troubles with daycare over the past few months, but for many reasons we have decided to pull Parker out of daycare and start Montessori school. I am so excited about this decision!! Parker started his new school today. He was so excited and knew just what to do when he got there.
Here is Parker this morning before school...

In the parking lot walking into class....with his lunch box!!

Things are definitely different at this school. Parker takes his own lunch! They do not use sippy cups!!! (I sent like 3 extra outfits with him today, I can just imagine the mess he is going to make!!!), they make them clean up after themselves (including scraping his lunch plate into the trash can and putting the plate and silver ware where it goes, cleaning up any spills, etc). Hard core potty training!! The teacher told me that he will probably become alot more independent over the next couple of weeks.
I cant wait to see how he does today!! I will give yall an update tomorrow!

Daffodils 2010

Earlier this week we went to the daffdil field at Wye Mountain. It is so beautiful. This is our second year to take Parker and get some fun pictures! This year we went with some of Dennis' family. It was fun to see how much Parker had changed from last year! I have included a few pictures from last year (green shirt). Last year he was just starting to walk...crazy!!

One of my friends saw this picture and said "What a great place to be, little man"

Friends

On Friday night it was beautiful outside!! We had a few friends over for a cookout. It is so nice to be able to have people over again!!! We love entertaining and it is so hard to do in the winter when it is cold and it gets dark so early. Parker had fun playing ball with all the boys. I didnt take many pictures but I did get one of Parker and Mallory!!

And of all the girls around the fire pit. Brie is about to have her baby...I am so glad we all got together before Mackenzie gets here.

I just love that we have friends with kids close in age to Parker. It is always so fun to get together and let the kids play. I cant wait for my other friends kids to get a little older so that Parker doesnt hurt them!! =) Sorry Mallory!!

On Saturday we went to a friends' daughters 5th birthday party. They had a clown and Parker LOVED her. He sat with his hands in his lap and watched her for like 30 minutes!!
After the party we went to the grocery store with Stephen, Sarah and Sydney to get items to grill out. Parker and Sydney had a blast riding around in the car cart.

When we got back to their house, the kids had so much fun together. Parker and Sydney are really into coloring!!!

Thanks, Stephen and Sarah for having us over!! Parker stayed up until 10:30!! I still cant believe he lasted that long without whining one bit! (it must have been that Barney that Sarah had on her DVR!!)

update

Time to catch up again! Not much has happened over the last week. Last Friday Parker and I met some friends for a playdate. I totally forgot to take any pictures until the very end. This is the best I could get (do you think Parker could be slumping anymore?)

We met Noah and Brody at a local church's indoor playground. It is always nice to let Parker play with boys his own age and hang out with fun moms =).

Saturday was the Rhea Lana sale!!! I love this sale. I pretty much get Parker's wardrobe for the upcoming season twice a year. THey have a sale for spring clothes (the one I just went to) and then for winter clothes. It is a consinement sale, but they have standards and most of the clothes are really nice and a lot of the times they still have the tags on them!! It is nice to get most of his clothes that he will ruin at school for cheap and then I can buy and add in a few cute things I see throughout the year. THey also have TONS of toys and anything baby or kid (beds, strollers, bouncy seats, EVERYTHING!!). WHile I went to Rhea Lana with my mom, Dennis and Parker went to the deer woods. It was a work day and Dennis took Parker to play. His favorite thing to do is ride 4-wheelers and Daddy's Ranger. Dennis said he played really hard. When he got home he took a 5 hour nap until I finally woke him up!

The rest of the weekend was pretty laid back.

We played outside

On Sunday, we went shopping and found the perfect life jacket for Parker.

We go to the lake a lot in the summer. I am so excited about this year!!!
Oh yeah, Parker has decided that he LOVES baseball hats. When he is at home, that is all he will wear.
On Tuesday, I took Parker to have Easter pictures made with live bunnies and lambs. It is a fundraiser for Arkansas Children's Hospital.
Here is Parker in his Easter outfit. Posing very awkwardly!
And here is a sneak peek of the lambs....they were kinda creepy!!
Tuesday was also my birthday. Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes. It was a really great day. Dennis took me to dinner and then we went to see a movie. We went to see Remember Me. Pretty good movie with an amazing ending!! Dont look it up....just see it!!
Also, another exciting thing that is happening....we have officially started potty training Parker. He is doing really good. It has only been 1 1/2 days!! We have a small obstacle...Parker takes Lasix every morning (a medication that is a diuretic..it makes him pee). He takes this so that fluid wont accumulate on his heart. We will just have to take him a lot more in the mornings. Parker can do this!! Say a little prayer =)

Tornado

Last night Parker and I went over to my parent's house for dinner. While I was driving there it started pouring down rain. We got inside and saw that there were thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings in Little Rock. We usually dont worry about it when we are at my parent's house because tornados just dont go in that area. Well, as we were preparing to sit down and eat dinner the tornado sirens started going off and the weather man said that the tornado was going right through our area!! We were kinda scared, so we all went down into the basement. It was so funny!! I wish I had gotten a picture! Imagine 9 people (me, Parker, my mom, Cory and his girlfriend, Kelsey and her boyfriend, Justin and some friend that is a girl) in a basement with A TON of suitcases and Christmas decorations and of course Barney was playing!! It was a party!

When we got out of the basement, everything was fine. But then it started hailing. Some of the hail was 2 inches big. After it stopped Parker wanted to go play with the hail. It only lasts about 3 minutes before it melts.

and then he wanted to eat the hail. One tiny lick and he was over that!!

Dennis was out of town and HATED that he couldnt do anything or protect us! We made it through the storm and our houses are still standing. Please pray for the families that did have a lot of damage to their homes.

Growing up

It has been so warm and pretty outside this week. Last night we went on a walk. Parker wanted to hold Bentley's lease and walk him. Betley is pretty strong! It was so funny to see him "dragging" Parker around. Parker was running to keep up.

He did fall once, so Daddy held the lease and Parker helped.

He is just getting so big and grown up! I took a picture of Parker and Dennis the other night and thought it would be fun to compare it to a picture from almost two years ago!!

Fun weekend!

We had such a fun weekend! It was BEAUTIFUL outside. On Saturday morning I took Parker to get his hair cut and we saw one of our favorite blogger friends there, Noah and Mandy!! Parker and Noah had so much fun at the train table while they waited to get their hair cut. Parker hates getting his hair cut! It takes about 15 seconds to get it done because he is screaming the entire time and the hair cutter girl just wants it to be over!! This is the only thing he screams for!! I dont know!
After the traumatizing hair cut, we met Diane and Mallory at Chick fil a to play on the playground. I am so sad that I didnt get a picture of Mallory sitting in the middle of the table in her bumbo...what a cutie!!

After a quick nap, we went to a birthday party at a local park. It was so pretty outside, we even wore short sleeves! Parker was so excited to see Sydney ("LeeLee")!!

cupcakes and ice cream!!

Parker just loved these glasses!

His first time to play with sidewalk chalk! (yes, the first time!!)

This was their favorite thing to do....play in the dirt with sticks!
On Sunday night, I went to a baby shower for my parents and Tyler! Her friends wanted to welcome him into the family. They had such cute decorations...

That is Tyler's name on the table.

Me and my mom and the hostesses

My mom about to open presents!

The guest of honor (he slept the entire time!)

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I am on spring break this week!! It doesnt really mean that much when you are taking online classes and still have a job!!
