Picnic and Concert

Sunday night we had our church picnic. It was so fun, they had rides and games but Parker's favortie part was the slide and the swings.

Most of the time he spent climbing and sliding. He could climb up the entire slide by himself!!

Boys will be boys

First off, just look at my sweet Parker this morning before leaving for mother's day out. It is his first day to wear shorts this year and he just looked so cute!

Parker getting his tools out to help daddy

Yesterday I was working and I heard Parker grunting. I looked over and he had climbed up into his chair and was standing in it! I guess I have a climber on my hands!

A few days a week me and a friend go walking on our church's track above the basketball court. Last night we went and Dennis brought a few friends to play basketball. After we were finished walking I took Parker down to watch daddy play. Parker loved watching and wanted to get out there so bad.
sowly trying to get out there...
And when I told him no, this is the face he gave me...
On the feeding front, we are making some huge progress with Parker's eating. Yesterday he ate a banana for the first time WITHOUT gagging!!! This is huge! He has eaten a green bean, carrots, chicken (still working on that one), peanut butter, and a few other things this week. He is doing so great. He has also added almost an entire bottle of pediasure a day to his meals. This is 130 more calories a day...we will make it to the 26 pounds before I know it! This morning he drank 8 oz of pediasure all at once. I definitely think increasing his meds has helped with his endurance level.
Parker had his weekly pulse ox checked yesterday and it was the same....around 74. We will just keep an eye on him.
Hope everyone has a great week. I cant wait to enjoy this beautiful weather! We will for sure be outside ALOT this week!

Slides are so fun!

The other night we had dinner at Stephen, Sarah and Sydney's house. Parker and Sydney are able to play together a little more now. They both were running all over the house! I cant imagine having two! Sydney just got a slide and it was in the middle of the living room. They thought it was the perfect spot for it. Parker absolutely loved it!! At first he was a little scared to go down by himself, but now he is a daredevil! He still cant climb up the steps in back of it but he tried so hard, mommy had to help a little! Sydney is getting around so good and can climb that slide like a champ! I am so excited to see them playing together...they arent too great at sharing yet, but we will work on that!
I'm thinking that we are going to have to get a slide really soon! Just look at that smile!
Sydney and Parker playing! She wasn't too thrilled about Parker playing with HER phone! They are so funny!
I uploaded a really short video of Parker sliding down the slide all by himself! He just looks so proud of himself. You can see him slowly scooting himself toward the edge.

Weekly pulse ox check

At our last Cardiology appointment, Dr Seib suggested that we go get Parker's pulse ox (oxygen saturation in the blood) checked about once a week at the pediatrician. He wants us to do this because Parker's oxygen was kind of low and if it remains low, he will do a heart cath at some point (maybe this summer). Well, we went yesterday afternoon and it was 74. At the cardiology appt two weeks ago it was 78 and last week at the pediatrician it was 76. So, it is going down. I talked to Dr. Seib's nurse last night and she siad that his pulse ox will fluctuate and they wont really start getting worried until it stays at 70 or below. He has definitely started looking bluer around his eyes and I can tell he is tired more often. He will be playing and all of the sudden he will just lay flat on the floor and rest for a few minutes and then he will jump back up and play again. I am just glad he knows when he needs to rest and doesnt push himself too hard. So, we will just keep checking his pulse ox and watching him for any signs of heart failure. If I had to guess, I would say he will be having a heart cath sometime this summer. But who knows!

I will end with a cute picture of Parker at his favorite time of day---bath time!!!

Easter (a little late)

Ok, this post is just going to be long and have a ton of pictures from our Easter weekend....

Here is Parker waiting to hunt easter eggs for the very first time!!!
On Friday Parker hunted eggs at the church. I was surprised at how well he did.
He was diving for those eggs!!

On Saturday morning, one of my oldest friends, Lauren, invited us to her church to hunt Easter eggs. It was a gorgeous day and it was so fun to see her sweet little boy Spencer.
Spencer couldnt really hunt the eggs (he is only 5 months old!).
Parker was so proud of his full bucket of eggs!!
On Saturday night we dyed Easter eggs with my family. We always have fun together! (We missed Cory and Amy!!)

Parker dyed a couple of eggs too!
All of our eggs!
Easter morning was stressful! I didnt get any pictures of Parker's Easter basket, can you believe that!!! It was raining so hard and it was freezing that morning.
We went to my parents house for a YUMMY breakfast!

Parker hunted eggs at their house too, in his little suite!

Here is the best family picture we were able to get!!
This is the best picture of Parker in his suite I could get! He did not want to cooperate that day!
And here is Parker with his Easter present....he LOVES his new shopping cart!
Hope yall had a great Easter!!

Heart Walk 2009 and fun weekend

Parker started feeling much better by Friday afternoon. I guess he just had the fever virus. I found out today that all of the kids his therapist sees were sick last week with a fever!! Guess he got it from one of them or from her. I am just glad he is all better!!

On Friday night I went out to dinner with my two best friends, Diane and Brittani. Dennis and Parker had a guys night--I'm sure they watched the hunting channel! I dont think I have announced this yet on my blog, but Diane is about 14 weeks pregnant! I am so excited for her and cant wait to find out what it is, so I can start buying her cute things!! I have to say that I am also kinda jealous...I absolutely loved being pregnant. Maybe I will be again...someday!! I am still pretty scared when it comes to having another baby!!

Brittani, me and Diane

Saturday morning we participated in the Central Arkansas Heart Walk. Our team was "Team Parker". We had about 60 people show up to be on our team!!! It was so amazing to see all of those people there to support Parker. Raising money for the American Heart Association is very important to our family and we are so blessed to have so many people that love Parker and are willing to help us raise as much money as possible. I think we did really good. We raised over $2500--more than last year and more than our goal of $2000!! Go Team Parker!!

Our Team (well, part of it)

Parker, my mom, Kelsey, me and Amy

Rick, Emilee, me and Megan

Walking

Parker crossing the finish line

After the walk...Parker was tired.

It was such a beautiful day, it reached like 75 degrees and was sunny. After the walk Dennis and I took Parker to the park.

He loved the swings!

So did Daddy!

trying to walk on the gravel

That was too hard so he just sat down and played with it!

On Sunday night we ate at my parents house and she got Parker a new dump truck for her house!!

Overall our weekend was great! Thanks again to those that donated and walk in support of Parker!!

No answer and still sick

We went to the pediatrician yesterday. Parker was running a 102 temperature and was just pittiful. This is his first time to be really sick with something (besides open heart surgery). His ears looked fine. They did a strep test, flu test. chest xray, and CBC. Everything was negative and looked fine. She said that it is probably a fever virus that will have to run its coarse. She did send his strep test off to be cultured because he had the symptoms of strep (RED throat, white tongue, yucky breath). So, we will find out this afternoon what that test says. If it is negative then he must have the fever virus. He is just so pittiful and all he has done for the past two days is sleep. This morning he woke up without a fever but by the time we got to the office he had a low fever so he went right to bed. I am so lucky that I can bring him to work with me. I share an office with my mom and we can just close the door so noone comes in and is around the sick baby.

Last night we celebrated my brother's 24th birthday at my grandmothers. We took a portable bed and Parker slept the entire time back in Gran's bedroom. We had the yummiest cake--my mom made it!! Of course, I had to put the silliest picture of Cory from the night. We missed you Amy!!
